Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin Donuts
Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin Donuts
Soft, fluffy, warmly spiced pumpkin donuts baked to perfection and coated in buttery cinnamon sugar. These taste like fall in every bite — and they only take about 20 minutes to make!

If fall had a flavor, it would be these cinnamon sugar pumpkin donuts. They’re soft, incredibly moist, and perfectly spiced — plus they’re baked, not fried, which makes them an easy treat you can whip up on a cozy morning.

These donuts come together quickly in one bowl and fill your kitchen with the most comforting pumpkin spice aroma.

They’re the perfect weekend breakfast, after-school treat, or Thanksgiving morning snack. If you love pumpkin baked goods, these will be an instant favorite.

Serve them warm with coffee, hot chocolate, or a big mug of apple cider. The cinnamon sugar coating gives each donut that classic bakery-style crunch without the mess of frying.
Ingredients
For the Donuts
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ginger
- ⅛ teaspoon cloves (optional)
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a donut pan or spray with nonstick baking spray.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Combine
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
5. Fill & Bake
Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut wells, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until they spring back when touched.
6. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
In a shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
Brush each warm donut with melted butter, then immediately dip into the cinnamon sugar, coating all sides.

These donuts bake quickly in the oven, and using a piping bag or zip-top bag makes filling the pan easy. Once they’re slightly warm, coat them in butter and cinnamon sugar for that irresistible finish.

They also freeze well, so you can make them ahead for busy mornings.

Jennie’s Thoughts
There’s something so comforting about a warm pumpkin donut fresh from the oven. The cinnamon sugar melts just a little into the donut, giving it that perfect mix of soft and crunchy. I love making these on chilly mornings because it makes the whole house smell like fall.

They’re one of those recipes that feels special but takes barely any effort — which is exactly my favorite kind of recipe. These go so well with morning coffee while I’m working on blog posts or editing videos.

You will love these. They’re cozy, quick, and the flavor is incredible.
