- 1 heaping teaspoon of fresh Garlic – minced
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
OTHER:
- Green Onions – chopped – to top
- 2 sleeves of Success Rice
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO to make Chinese garlic chicken recipes:
Pour about 3/4 cup of Cooking Oil into the bottom of a large skillet, or Wok, and coat the skillet with the oil, over medium heat for best results. Place about 2 cups of Corn Starch in a Gallon sized Ziploc bag, and add the Garlic Salt, Seasoned Salt, and Seasoned Pepper to the bag, then place the Chicken pieces in the bag with the Cornstarch mixture. Gently shake the bag, moving the Chicken around in the bag, and coating the Chicken in the Cornstarch. Place the skillet on the stove burner, and heat to medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, place the coated Chicken in the hot oil, and cook the Chicken, watching it carefully, until it begins to turn golden brown. Turn the cooked chicken with a large turner, or slotted spoon, and cook on the other side until golden brown. This usually take 30 to 45 minutes to cook the chicken completely done – you may also need to turn the heat down so the chicken cooks, but does not burn, and you may need to add a little more oil – you will have to judge this, per the size of your fried chicken pieces. Just make sure the Chicken is cooked done. While the Chicken is cooking, Cut the Onion and bell peppers into pieces, and when the chicken is done, add the Onion and Pepper to the skillet, stirring into the Chicken. Turn the heat down and let simmer.
Delicious sauce recipe:
In a large heavy bottom saucepan, place the Orange Juice, Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, and Cook on medium high heat, until the mixture comes to a boil. Turn the heat down to low, and add the Minced Garlic, and stir well. Mix 2 heaping teaspoons of Cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water and stir until completely dissolved. Turn the heat back to high, and pour the slurry of Cornstarch into the sauce, stirring to blend. The Sauce will look cloudy, but continue to stir until the Sauce boils, and the Sauce will turn clear. When the mixture boils, stir for just a few seconds, and turn off the burner, and move the Sauce off the heat.
Cook the Rice according to package directions (I used Success Rice, which only takes 10 minutes to cook, and turns out perfect) When Rice is cooked, drain, place back in pan, and add about a Tablespoon of Butter. Fluff Rice with a fork and set aside.
Turn the heat up to Medium under the Skillet and pour the stir fry sauce over the Chicken. Toss the Chicken, Onion, and Red Pepper in the sauce until coated. Turn heat off. Serve over Rice, and top with chopped Green Onions. Enjoy!
Makes 6 large servings
NOTE: If you’ve never used SUCCESS RICE, you will find it on the grocery stores isle with the Rice. It usually comes with 4 or 6 sleeves of Rice in the box. When it’s done, you drain the pan, and the sleeves, and you have perfect Rice. Just Butter, toss, and it’s ready to serve.
