This Oreo pumpkin spice hot chocolate is the best of both worlds, sweet pumpkin and chocolate, mixed with pumpkin pie spice and sweet cream and a cookie crunch.
How to make Oreo pumpkin spice hot chocolate:
Hot cocoa mix: You can use any brand of powdered cocoa mix, I happened to have swiss miss hot cocoa on hand.
Whipped cream: I used reddi whip whip cream, but if you wanted to add a homemade feel to this drink you could whip up your own homemade whipped cream and add a sprinkle on cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice on top.
Milk: I used lactaid milk to make my hot chocolate, but you can make it with regular milk, oat milk or almond milk.
Pumpkin spice Oreos: You can find these at most grocery stores, they are a seasonal item and always available in August, just in time for Fall.
Optional: I also topped this hot chocolate with little candy pumpkins from Brach’s seasonal mix.
- Heat one cup of water in a coffee mug.
- Place 3 tablespoons of cocoa mix in a mug and add hot water.
- Stir until cocoa mix is dissolved, then add 2 tablespoons of crushed pumpkin spice Oreos in the hot chocolate. Add one teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Top with whipped cream and cinnamon. Enjoy!
Can I make hot cocoa bombs with Oreos and chocolate?
Yes! You can make easy hot chocolate bombs with just a few simple ingredients. Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and fill the inside of the round molds. I used a silicone mold for hot chocolate molds with melted chocolate, you can find them on Amazon. When dry, fill a half ball with hot cocoa powder, one tablespoon of crushed Oreos, and mini marshmallows. Seal with melted chocolate and drop into a cup of hot milk, top with whipped cream and cinnamon, stir and enjoy! Check out our Oreo pumpkin spice hot chocolate bomb recipe here!
