Ingredients:

For the Breaded Fried Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups buttermilk or non-dairy milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

For the BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce

For Assembly:

  • 4 brioche buns, split and lightly toasted
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced red onions
  • Pickles (sliced)
  • Additional BBQ sauce for drizzling (optional)

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Chicken: a. Place chicken breasts in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. b. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight for enhanced flavor.

2. Bread the Chicken: a. In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. b. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. c. Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.

3. Deep Fry the Chicken: a. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large, deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). b. Fry breaded chicken until golden brown and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes per side). c. Place fried chicken on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

4. Prepare the BBQ Sauce: a. In a small saucepan, warm your favorite BBQ sauce over low heat.

5. Coat the Fried Chicken in BBQ Sauce: a. Dip each piece of fried chicken into the warm BBQ sauce, ensuring it is thoroughly coated.

6. Assemble the Sandwich: a. Place a BBQ-coated fried chicken breast on the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun. b. Top with lettuce leaves, sliced red onions, and pickles. c. Drizzle additional BBQ sauce over the toppings if desired. d. Place the top half of the bun on the sandwich.

7. Serve and Enjoy:
