Jennie’s Thoughts

There is just something so joyful about a dessert full of sprinkles. Every time I make this Layered Birthday Cake Lush, it gives me that same little burst of happiness I used to feel as a kid blowing out birthday candles. It’s colorful, fun, and honestly… it just makes people smile.

I love this recipe because it’s simple but still feels special. The Golden Oreo crust adds the perfect sweetness, the aqua cheesecake layer is soft and creamy, and that birthday cake pudding ties everything together with the most nostalgic flavor. It’s the kind of dessert you bring to the table and everyone instantly asks, “What is that?”

Whether you’re celebrating something or just want a pretty, no-bake treat to brighten your day, this one always feels like a party. And the best part? It tastes even better the next day—if it lasts that long.

Instructions

  1. Make the crust:
Place the Golden Oreos in a food processor and blend until fine crumbs form. Add melted butter and pulse to combine. Press the mixture firmly into an 8×8 dish. Place in the freezer while preparing the remaining layers.
  2. Cheesecake layer:
In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and mix until creamy. Fold in Cool Whip. Tint the mixture aqua/blue and fold in sprinkles. Spread evenly over the chilled crust.
  3. Pudding layer:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mixes, cold milk, and birthday cake flavoring. Allow it to thicken for 2–3 minutes, then spread gently over the cheesecake layer.
  4. Final layer:
Spread Cool Whip on top and decorate with sprinkles.
  5. Chill:
Refrigerate at least 4–5 hours, or overnight for best results. Slice and serve.
