What is Twix ice cream – no churn?
When I was just a kid, my Mom bought me an Ice Cream Maker that you just sat in the kitchen sink, plugged it in , and in a little while out came this wonderful frozen homemade Ice Cream.. I made every flavor you could think of; peach, strawberry, blueberry, mint chocolate chip, and the list goes on.
It was a fabulous way to spend warm summer evenings, and a few cold ones in the Winter too. I had a ball and invited all the neighborhood kids to have a bowl of my creamy creation. We ate homemade Ice Cream, jumped on the Trampoline, swam and had a ball. So, even though the Ice Cream Maker is long gone, I’m enjoying every minute creating wonderful flavors with this No Churn recipe and having just as much fun remembering that yummy Summer, when I was just a kid.

What brand candy is best for this recipe?
You can make Variations of this recipe by using other Candy Bars, like Mounds, Almond Joy, Snickers, or whatever your favorite may be. Get creative, and make two or three different flavors. You can keep them in the freezer, or make them ahead, and share with guests, family, or friends. I prefer to use Eagle-brand Sweetened Condensed Milk. It has such a great rich flavor. You can use any brand of Heavy Cream, but I personally suggest Land O Lakes. It whips to a thick whipped cream. I always use Hershey’s Syrups found in the Ice Cream Toppings section.
Do I really need to use heavy cream? What alternatives are there?
If you find yourself out of heavy whipping cream, try using ‘Dream Whip’ Brand, whipped topping. It’s usually found on the Baking Isle, or where Pie Fillings, or Jell-O is in the grocery store. It’s shelf stable, and come in a package with two envelopes, so you can whip one or both. It’s great to keep on hand for those occasions you’re out of whipping cream/heavy cream.
You can also add other flavors in the Ice Cream, like substituting Coconut Syrup for Vanilla, if you were making ‘Mounds’ Ice Cream, or other flavored syrups depending on the flavor of Ice Cream you chose to make. You can usually find the flavored syrups on the Coffee Isle at the grocery store. There are a lot of different brands to choose from, but I would suggest ‘Torani’ brand. Their syrups are delicious, and they have so many flavors to choose from. If you can’t find them at the store, follow the link below, and choose the flavor(s) that are your favorites!
