Chocolate Christmas Sprinkle Cookies
Chocolate Christmas Sprinkle Cookies
If you’re looking for a festive cookie that’s as fun to make as it is to eat, these Chocolate Christmas Sprinkle Cookies are it!

They’re soft, fudgy, and packed with rich chocolate flavor. What makes them extra special is the coating of red, green, and white sprinkles that give them that perfect holiday sparkle.

These cookies look cheerful on a cookie tray, and they’re always the first to disappear.

I love making these during December because they feel so playful. The sprinkles add crunch and color, and the cookie itself is like a chewy bite of brownie. Whether you’re baking for a cookie swap, a holiday party, or just a cozy night in with hot cocoa, these cookies are a must-try.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup holiday sprinkles (red, green, and white)
Instructions
Step 1: Mix the wet ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, and oil until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.
Step 2: Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until fully combined. The dough will be thick.
Step 3: Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (this helps the cookies hold their shape).
Step 4: Preheat oven
Heat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 5: Roll and coat
Scoop dough into tablespoon-sized balls. Roll each ball in holiday sprinkles until coated.
Step 6: Bake
Place dough balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Bake 10–12 minutes until the cookies are set but still soft in the center.
Step 7: Cool and enjoy
Allow cookies to cool on the pan for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Tips for Perfect Christmas Sprinkle Cookies
- Chill the dough – It makes rolling easier and prevents spreading.
- Use plenty of sprinkles – The more colorful, the more festive!
- Make ahead – You can freeze the dough balls and bake them straight from the freezer.
- Switch up sprinkles – Try metallics, nonpareils, or even star-shaped sprinkles for variety.
