How to Make Moonlit Night Jell-O Shots
Step 1
Lightly spray 2-ounce plastic shot cups with nonstick spray and wipe away any excess.
Step 2
Prepare the blue gelatin by whisking the berry blue gelatin into the boiling water until completely dissolved.
Stir in the cold water and vodka.
Fill each cup about one-third full.
Refrigerate for 45 to 60 minutes, or until mostly set.
Step 3
Meanwhile, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the cold water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
Add the boiling water and whisk until dissolved.
Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla vodka until smooth.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
Carefully pour a thin layer over the chilled blue gelatin.
Return to the refrigerator until set, about 30 to 45 minutes.

Step 4
Pour the remaining blue gelatin over the white layer.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until completely firm.
Step 5
Before serving, lightly brush the rims with honey.
Dip into blue sanding sugar.
Top each shot with edible gold stars and a light dusting of edible glitter to resemble a moonlit night sky.
Serve chilled.

Tips
- Let each layer partially set before adding the next to keep the colors distinct.
- Cool each gelatin mixture slightly before pouring so it doesn’t melt the previous layer.
- A measuring cup with a spout makes pouring much easier.
- Refrigerate overnight for the cleanest layers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! They’re perfect for making a day or two before your party.
Can I use a different alcohol?
Absolutely. White rum or silver tequila both work well.
Why did my layers mix together?
The previous layer wasn’t firm enough before adding the next. Chill each layer until it is mostly set before continuing.

Jennie’s Thoughts
Halloween recipes are some of my favorite things to create, and these Moonlit Night Jell-O Shots might be one of the prettiest I’ve ever made. The layered blue and white colors remind me of moonlight shining through the night sky, while the sparkling sugar rim and tiny gold stars make each one feel a little magical.

They’re elegant enough for an adult Halloween party but still fun and whimsical. If you’re looking for a cocktail that guests will immediately start taking pictures of, this is the one.
