- Cinnamon
- Maple syrup
- Milk
- Whole cloves
- Ice
- Star anise
Begin by making a simple syrup in a small saucepan, boil water and add sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup, cloves, and star anise, then set aside to cool while you brew your chai spiced tea bags. Bring one cups of water to a boil and then remove the pot or pan from the burner, add two chai tea bags and let steep for at least 20 minutes, especially if you like a strong chai flavor. Since we aren’t making a hot chai latte, you will need to let the tea cool down to room temperature before serving. Add your milk to a mason jar and shake until it’s frothy or just use a frother in the mason jar to make foam, use milk of choice, like soy, almond, or any other kind of milk. Add the simple syrup to the milk and shake again, until the syrup is mixed well with the milk. This will make a sweet cream foam for your iced latte. Then add ice cubes to a glass, and pour the frothy milk over the ice, and next pour the tea over the milk. Enjoy this copycat Starbucks drink!
