HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
1 1/2 pounds of Ground Sirloin
Small sweet onion, chopped
1/2 of a Red Bell Pepper, chopped
1/2 cup of Pineapple Tidbits
1 teaspoon of minced Garlic
Garlic Salt – to taste
Garlic Powder – to taste
Seasoned Pepper – to taste
Seasoned Salt – to taste
1/4 cup of Teriyaki Sauce or Glaze
TO TOP:
1 can of Pineapple slices – or sliced Pineapple
Lettuce
Red or Yellow Onion Slices
1 package of Hamburger Buns
Teriyaki Sauce
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
In a large bowl, add the Ground Sirloin, chopped Onion, chopped Red Pepper, Pineapple, and Garlic, and mix well. Add the Garlic Salt, Garlic Powder, Seasoned Pepper, and Seasoned Salt, and mix. Add the Teriyaki, and mix until well blended.
Form the Sirloin mixture into Hamburger patties, and place them in the Ninja Foodie Grill. Turn the Ninja Foodie Grill on the low Grill setting, and cook the burgers until they’re golden brown, then turn them, and cook on the other side, until golden brown, or completely done.
Remove from the Grill to a Serving Plate.
Place Pineapple slices on the Grill, and turn the grill setting on low. Cook for about 5 – 7 minutes, and remove from the Grill. Slice Onion, and prepare Lettuce – rinse well, and dry with paper towels.
Assemble Burgers: Place Lettuce slices on the bottom Bun, and an Onion slice on top of Lettuce. Place Burger on top of Onion, and place grilled Pineapple Slices on top of Burger. Drizzle generously with Teriyaki Sauce, and place top Bun on Burger. Serve with your favorite French Fries, Potato Chips, or other favorite sides. Enjoy!
Makes approximately 5 Burgers
NOTE: Regarding the spices used – garlic salt, etc., – If you’re unsure how much to use for ‘to taste’ instructions – just lightly sprinkle the Ground Sirloin with the seasonings. Don’t overdo the spices, but don’t be afraid to add enough to season the Burgers. If I had to guess, I’d say I added about 1/2 a teaspoon of each, but maybe a little more on the Garlic Salt. However, I didn’t measure the seasonings, but that should be enough to flavor the Burgers.
If you don’t have a Ninja Foodie Grill, you can cook these in an Air-Fryer, but you’ll have to really watch them, and keep the settings on low, and don’t leave them for more than a few minutes without checking the burgers. You could also do these on an outdoor gas grill, or even in the oven on a broiler pan. If none of those is an option for you, you could cook them in a large heavy skillet on a low setting until done. These burgers are wonderful, but pineapple and Teriyaki have sugar in them that will burn quickly at high settings. Keep these on a low setting no matter which method you use to cook them, and it should be fine. The Ninja Grill is very similar to cooking them on a gas grill, but is a faster and easier way to prepare foods.
