It’s festive without any fuss, delicious without any baking, and fun for all ages. Every bite has a little surprise—sometimes a crunchy pretzel, sometimes a sweet Oreo piece, sometimes a powdered muddy buddy—and that’s what makes it so addictive. It’s simply holiday happiness in a bowl.

Ingredients

For the Mix

  • 6 cups muddy buddies (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 cups popped popcorn
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup red and green M&Ms
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos
  • 1 cup white chocolate, melted

Instructions

1. Prepare the Mix

In a very large bowl, combine the muddy buddies, popcorn, pretzels, red and green M&Ms, and crushed Oreos. Gently toss everything together so the ingredients are evenly distributed.

2. Add the Drizzle

Melt the white chocolate in the microwave using 20–30 second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the white chocolate over the entire bowl of snack mix. Use a spatula or spoon to lightly toss so the drizzle coats different pieces.

3. Let It Set

Spread the mixture out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let it sit for about 15–20 minutes until the white chocolate sets.

4. Serve or Package

Break the mix into clusters and serve in a big festive bowl. Or scoop into treat bags, tins, or jars for adorable homemade Christmas gifts.

Jennie’s Thoughts

I absolutely love making Reindeer Chow every December. There’s something magical about tossing everything together and watching the bright holiday colors pop through the bowl. It feels like Christmas in snack form! I also think this makes the cutest little gift—fill a cellophane bag, tie a ribbon, and you have the easiest (and most addictive!) holiday treat to share. Every time I set this bowl out, family members keep grabbing handfuls—they just can’t help themselves.

Reindeer Chow is also a great recipe to prep ahead because all the flavors stay fresh and crisp for days. I usually store mine in an airtight container on the counter, and everyone in the house grabs a handful every time they walk by. It’s that irresistible.

This mix also looks so festive on a Christmas dessert board or snack table—those pops of red and green M&Ms and the white drizzle make it sparkle.

Another thing I love about this recipe is how customizable it is. You can add mini marshmallows, Christmas sprinkles, chocolate-covered pretzels, or even swap the white chocolate for red or green candy melts. No matter how you tweak it, the result is always fun, crunchy, and absolutely delicious. It’s a Christmas classic for a reason!
