Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Orange gel food coloring
  • Pretzel rods (broken into 1–1.5 inch pieces)
  • Green sour candy belts (cut into thin strips)

Instructions

1. Make the Krispy Base

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Once melted, stir in the mini marshmallows and mix until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in several drops of orange gel food coloring (start with a few and add more until you get a pumpkin-y shade).

Quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated in orange marshmallow.

2. Shape the Pumpkins

Let the mixture cool for 1–2 minutes until it’s comfortable to handle (but still pliable). Lightly butter your hands, then scoop out small portions and roll into round pumpkin shapes — about the size of a golf ball or slightly larger.

Place each one on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

3. Add the Stems & Vines

While the pumpkins are still soft, press a pretzel rod piece into the top center of each for the stem.

Cut thin strips of green sour candy belts and gently press or curl one next to each stem as a vine. You can shape them into little loops or curls for extra charm!

Let the pumpkins set at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant orange without thinning the marshmallow mix.
  • Lightly coat your hands in butter or spray them with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days (if they last that long!).
