Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) fully cooked kielbasa sausage (or use 2 small links)
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness and caramelization)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place the kielbasa on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, make hasselback slices (about ¼ inch apart) along the kielbasa, being careful not to slice all the way through — just about ¾ down.

Tip: Place chopsticks or wooden spoons on either side of the sausage to prevent cutting through.

2. Flavor & Sauce

In a small bowl, mix barbecue sauce with brown sugar and garlic powder (if using). Brush the kielbasa generously with the sauce, making sure it gets into each slice.

Place the sauced kielbasa on the prepared baking sheet.

3. Bake Until Glazed

Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the edges are caramelized and the sauce is bubbly and slightly sticky. You can brush with extra sauce halfway through for more flavor.
