Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter with a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Add the strawberry flavoring and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream or milk. Continue mixing until smooth.
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add the remaining tablespoon of cream, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Add a few drops of pink food coloring and mix until evenly combined.
  6. Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Let it come to room temperature before using.

Tips for the Perfect Frosting:

  • For an even more intense strawberry flavor, consider adding a small amount of freeze-dried strawberry powder to your frosting. This will enhance both the taste and the natural pink hue without the need for artificial coloring. Additionally, using high-quality butter will result in a richer, creamier frosting that spreads and pipes beautifully.
  • This frosting pairs wonderfully with vanilla or chocolate cakes, but it’s especially delicious on strawberry cake or cupcakes. You can also use it to fill sandwich cookies or spread it over sugar cookies for a festive touch.
  • If your frosting becomes too thick, simply add a little more cream to thin it out. Conversely, if it’s too thin, mix in a bit more powdered sugar until you achieve the right consistency. Be sure to beat the frosting well for a light and airy texture that will hold its shape on your baked goods.
