Marshmallow brownies are a heavenly union of rich, fudgy chocolate and fluffy, gooey marshmallows, creating a dessert that's pure indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9-inch (23x33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Alternatively, you can melt it on the stovetop over low heat. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the melted butter into the sugar-egg mixture and stir until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  8. Once the brownie layer is done, remove it from the oven and immediately sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the top.
  9. Return the pan to the oven and broil for about 1-2 minutes, or until the marshmallows turn golden brown. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning; they can brown quickly.
  10. Allow the marshmallow brownies to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan.
