Ingredients

  • 2 packages (14 oz each) Lil Smokies sausages
  • 1 ½ cups barbecue sauce (use your favorite brand)
  • ¼ cup Fireball whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for a deeper flavor)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce:
In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, Fireball whiskey, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, and black pepper until smooth and combined.
  2. Add to the crockpot:
Place the Lil Smokies in your slow cooker, then pour the sauce mixture over them. Stir gently to coat all the sausages evenly.
  3. Cook low and slow:
Cover and cook on Low for 3–4 hours or High for 1½–2 hours, stirring once or twice during cooking.
  4. Serve:
Once the sauce is thick, glossy, and sticky, switch the slow cooker to Warm and serve straight from the pot with toothpicks or small forks.
