The Hot Pink Center is a great surprise when you slice it, and it’s sure to be a treat when served.  The bright blue Icing gives this cake such a pretty presentation, and it’s so festive for any occasion or event. Plus, it’s moist and tender, and really delicious.   Make sure to keep this one in your favorites!

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:

In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer, place the Butter, Cream Cheese, Sugar, Eggs, Vanilla, and Donut Flavoring, and blend on low until mixed.  Turn the mixer to Medium speed, and blend until smooth and creamy, scraping the mixing bowl down as needed, and blending again.  In a separate bowl, place the Flour, and Salt, and mix together.  Add about half the Flour, and half of the Milk to the mixing bowl, and mix until blended.  Continue adding the Flour, alternating with the Milk, until all ingredients have been added to the mixing bowl, and the batter is blended smooth.  Place about 1/3 of the Batter in a separate bowl, and add a few drops of the Hot Pink Food Coloring Gel to the batter, and stir until well mixed.  Grease and Flour a Bundt Pan, and pour half of the Batter in the mixing bowl into the Bundt Pan. Spoon the Hot Pink Batter on top of the Batter in the Pan, and add the remaining Batter in the Mixing Bowl on top of the Hot Pink Batter.  Place the pan in the oven at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove the pan from the oven to a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes, then remove the Cake from the pan, and leave on the wire rack to cool completely.

While the Cake is cooling, make the Icing:

In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer, add the Warm Water, Meringue Powder, Karo Syrup, Donut Flavoring, and mix together.  Add the Powdered Sugar about a cup at a time, and mix on low speed, until all the Powdered Sugar has been added.  Turn mixer to Medium High speed, and blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the mixing bowl as needed.  Add the Blue Food Coloring Gel a few drops at a time until desired color is achieved.
When Cake is completely cool, place the Cake on a serving plate, or Cake Stand, and Spoon the Icing over the top of the Cake, allowing the Icing to run down the sides of the Cake. (See Photo) Sprinkle Multi Colored Sprinkles of choice to the top of the Cake, similar to the ones you would get on a Donut, to decorate the Cake.  Cut in 2 inch pieces to serve.  Serve, and Enjoy!
Makes 12 to 14 servings
