If I were choosing a Jello shot for every zodiac sign, Aries had to be something red, energetic, and impossible to ignore. Cherry Jello gives these shots that gorgeous fiery red color, while cinnamon whiskey brings the heat.

They’re incredibly easy to make with just a few ingredients and would be fun for an Aries birthday party, zodiac-themed party, Halloween, game day, or anytime you need an easy Fireball Jello shot.

Cherry Fireball Jello Shots

Servings: 12–16 Jello shots
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 2–4 hours
Total Time: About 4 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 box (3 ounces) cherry Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Maraschino cherries, optional, for garnish

How to Make Cherry Fireball Jello Shots

Step 1: Prepare the Shot Cups

Arrange approximately 12–16 small plastic Jello shot cups on a baking sheet or tray.

Using a tray makes it much easier to transfer all of the shots to the refrigerator without spilling them.

Step 2: Dissolve the Cherry Jello

Pour the cherry Jello powder into a medium heat-safe mixing bowl.

Add 1 cup boiling water.

Whisk for approximately 2 minutes, or until the gelatin has completely dissolved.

Make sure you don’t have any undissolved gelatin remaining at the bottom of the bowl.

Step 3: Add the Fireball

Pour in 1/2 cup Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and 1/2 cup cold water.

Stir until everything is completely combined.

Step 4: Fill the Cups

Carefully divide the cherry Fireball mixture between the prepared shot cups.

Fill each cup approximately 3/4 full.

A small measuring cup with a pouring spout makes this much easier.

Step 5: Refrigerate

Transfer the tray to the refrigerator.

Chill the Jello shots for at least 2–4 hours, or until completely set.

For the best texture, I like giving them the full four hours.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

Just before serving, add a maraschino cherry to the top of each Jello shot if desired.

Keep the shots refrigerated until you’re ready to serve them.

The Aries Jello Shot

When I started thinking about creating a Jello shot for every zodiac sign, Aries was actually one of the easiest signs to figure out.

It needed to be red.

It needed to have some heat.

And it definitely couldn’t be boring.

So, Cherry Fireball Jello Shots.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and a fire sign, so cinnamon whiskey felt like the obvious choice. Pairing Fireball with bright red cherry Jello gives you a shot that’s sweet at first and then has that little cinnamon kick at the end.

It’s bold, fiery, fun, and definitely gets your attention.

Basically, it’s Aries in Jello shot form.

Jennie’s Thoughts

I have made a lot of Jello shots, but creating them around zodiac signs might be one of my favorite ideas yet.

The fun part is trying to figure out what each sign would actually taste like.

For Aries, I immediately pictured red.

Then I thought about it being a fire sign, and Fireball was almost too perfect.

Cherry and cinnamon also happen to taste really good together.

The cherry Jello is sweet and fruity, and then you get that warm cinnamon flavor from the whiskey.

And visually, these are exactly what I wanted for Aries.

Bright red.

Glossy.

A little dramatic.

I like adding a cherry on top because it makes such a simple Jello shot look so much prettier.

Now I just need to make the other eleven signs.

Why Cherry and Fireball Work Together

Fireball has a strong cinnamon flavor with sweetness and warmth.

Cherry Jello is fruity, sweet, and slightly tart.

When you combine them, you get a flavor that’s almost reminiscent of cherry cinnamon candy.

The cherry keeps the cinnamon whiskey from becoming overwhelming, while the Fireball makes an ordinary cherry Jello shot much more interesting.

Can I Make Fireball Jello Shots Stronger?

You can adjust the ratio slightly, but adding significantly more alcohol can interfere with the gelatin setting properly.

The recipe uses:

1 cup boiling water + 1/2 cup Fireball + 1/2 cup cold water

That gives you a reliable set while still giving the shots noticeable cinnamon whiskey flavor.

If you want a stronger Fireball taste, you can replace some of the cold water with additional Fireball, but don’t go overboard or you may end up with Jello shots that don’t set firmly.

What Kind of Jello Should I Use With Fireball?

Cherry is perfect here, but cinnamon whiskey works with several fruity gelatin flavors.

Other combinations to try include:

  • Apple Jello
  • Orange Jello
  • Peach Jello
  • Strawberry Jello
  • Black cherry Jello

But for the Aries version, I would absolutely stick with cherry.

That fiery red color is part of what makes the whole idea work.

Can I Use Black Cherry Jello?

Yes.

Black cherry would give the shots a slightly deeper cherry flavor and a darker red color.

Regular cherry Jello gives you the brightest red appearance, which I prefer for the zodiac theme.

How Many Jello Shots Does One Box Make?

One 3-ounce box of Jello typically makes approximately 12–16 small Jello shots, depending on the size of your cups and how full you fill them.

For a larger party, simply double the recipe.

How Far Ahead Can I Make Jello Shots?

Jello shots are a great make-ahead party recipe.

You can prepare these 1–2 days before your party and keep them covered in the refrigerator.

I recommend waiting until shortly before serving to add any garnishes.

That keeps everything looking fresh.

How to Store Cherry Fireball Jello Shots

Cover the individual cups with lids or cover the entire tray tightly.

Store the shots in the refrigerator until serving.

Do not leave Jello shots sitting at room temperature for extended periods.

Aries Birthday Party Idea

These would be so much fun for an Aries birthday party.

Because Aries birthdays fall in the spring, you don’t necessarily need to make the party look like a traditional dark or moody zodiac party.

Instead, lean into the fire-sign theme with:

  • Bright red accents
  • Gold stars
  • Zodiac symbols
  • Celestial decorations
  • Red cherries
  • Candles or twinkle lights

Put the Cherry Fireball Jello Shots on a tray with an Aries sign beside them and you’ve got an easy themed party drink without having to make anything complicated.

Zodiac Jello Shots

This Cherry Fireball Jello Shot is my pick for Aries, but it’s just the beginning.

I’m creating a different Jello shot inspired by each of the twelve zodiac signs, with the flavor, color, and personality of each sign helping determine its recipe.

The idea is that every sign gets its own signature shot.

So whether you’re throwing a zodiac birthday party, an astrology-themed girls’ night, or you just want to find out what your zodiac sign tastes like, there will be a Jello shot for every sign.

And Aries?

Aries gets Fireball.

Obviously.

Easy Cherry Fireball Jello Shots

You only need a handful of ingredients to make these Cherry Fireball Jello Shots, but the combination is so much more fun than an ordinary cherry Jello shot.

Sweet cherry.

Warm cinnamon.

Bright red color.

And just enough Fireball heat to make them interesting.

Make them for a party, serve them for an Aries birthday, or save the recipe for the next time you need an easy Jello shot that people will actually remember.

And if you’re an Aries, I think we found your signature Jello shot.
