Valentine’s Pretzel Bites (Easy Sweet & Salty Treat)

When it comes to Valentine’s Day treats, I’m all about recipes that are festive, simple, and don’t require a sink full of dishes.

These Valentine’s Pretzel Bites check every box. They’re sweet, salty, adorable, and come together in just minutes using a handful of ingredients you can find at any grocery store.

I made these using square Snap pretzels, white candy wafers, and classic red candy hearts for the center. They’re melted briefly in the oven, then finished with a candy heart pressed right on top. No complicated steps, no candy thermometer, and absolutely no stress.

These are the kind of treats you can whip up the same day you need them—and they still look like you planned ahead.

What I love most about these pretzel bites is how perfectly balanced they are. The crunch and saltiness of the pretzel paired with smooth, sweet white candy coating is one of those combinations that never gets old. Add a candy heart on top, and suddenly you’ve got a Valentine’s Day treat that feels fun, festive, and a little nostalgic.

These are perfect for classroom parties, Valentine’s dessert trays, gift bags, or even just a sweet snack to make at home with kids. Because there’s no real baking involved, this is a great recipe for little helpers. Kids love placing the candy hearts on top, and it turns into a quick kitchen activity instead of a big project.

Another reason I keep coming back to this recipe is how customizable it is. While I used white candy wafers and red hearts, you can easily switch things up. Pink candy melts, conversation hearts, or even M&M’s work beautifully. You can also make a big batch in under 20 minutes, which makes these ideal for parties or gifting.

Ingredients

  • Square Snap pretzels
  • White candy wafers (or white candy melts)
  • Red candy hearts

That’s it—just three simple ingredients.

How to Make Valentine’s Pretzel Bites

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the square Snap pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Place one white candy wafer on top of each pretzel.
  4. Put the baking sheet in the oven and heat for about 4 minutes, just until the candy wafers look shiny and soft. They should not be fully melted or runny.
  5. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately press one red candy heart gently into the center of each softened candy wafer.
  6. Allow the pretzel bites to cool completely at room temperature, or place them in the refrigerator for faster setting.
  7. Once the candy has hardened, they’re ready to serve or store.

Tips for Success

  • Don’t overheat the candy wafers—if they melt too much, they’ll lose their shape.
  • Work quickly once they come out of the oven so the candy hearts stick well.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.

How to Store

These Valentine’s Pretzel Bites keep well for up to one week when stored in an airtight container. If your kitchen is warm, refrigeration helps them hold their shape.
