Rice Krispy Treat Ghosts
Rice Krispy Treat Ghosts
Soft, gooey, and adorably spooky — these Rice Krispy Treat Ghosts are a Halloween favorite!

We shape classic homemade krispy treats into ghost-like blobs (think Hershey Kiss vibes — but imperfect and lumpy, just like real little ghouls), coat them in a vanilla glaze, and finish each one off with two tiny candy eyes.

Whether you’re making these for a Halloween party, school treat bags, or just to surprise your kids after dinner — they’re easy, festive, and totally cute.

Ingredients
For the Krispy Treats:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze & Decorations:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: white food coloring for extra opacity
- Wilton small candy eyes (about 24–36 total)
Instructions
1. Make the Krispy Treat Base
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Quickly fold in the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until evenly coated.
Let cool slightly until it’s warm and moldable — not hot.
2. Shape the Ghosts
Lightly butter your hands (or wear gloves) and shape small mounds of krispy treat mixture into ghosty blob shapes, kind of like a Hershey’s Kiss — but rougher, a little lumpy, and charmingly imperfect.
Place each one on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them set for 10–15 minutes.
3. Make the Vanilla Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. You want a pourable glaze, but not too runny. Add white gel food coloring if desired for a more opaque finish.
4. Coat & Decorate
Spoon or drizzle the glaze over each ghost, letting it drip down the sides a bit — messy is perfect here!
While the glaze is still wet, press two Wilton candy eyes near the top of each ghost.
Let sit until the glaze is set and the eyes are secure (about 30 minutes at room temp).

Tips & Tricks
- Make them bite-sized for party platters, or larger for individual treats.
- Let little hands help press on the eyes — they love it!
- You can also use candy melts instead of glaze for a quicker set.

Perfect For:
- Halloween parties
- Trick-or-treat night snacks
- School lunches or bake sales
- Ghost-themed dessert tables

Final Note
These Rice Krispy Ghosts are a festive, no-bake treat that brings maximum Halloween charm with minimum effort. They’re sweet, a little spooky, and totally irresistible. The imperfect shape is what makes them look like they just floated out of a haunted kitchen — and that’s the fun!
